Principal Report

Celebrating our students

I was so proud to walk through the pavilions of the Charleville Show and see the incredible achievements of the Charleville State High School Students.  From our Agricultural produce (our award winning tomatoes), to our art work and our Hospitality students with their award winning chocolate cake and the student work which received recognition.  This once again, highlights the incredible efforts of both our students and our teachers and our commitment to both education and community.

Principal Meeting

I recently attended the 2025 Principal Business Days in Toowoomba with my fellow Principal Colleagues from the darling Downs South West Region.  During the two days, we previewed the draft Strategic Plan that has been drafted by our Central Office team.  This was presented by the Director General for Education, Sharon Shimming.

Our Regional Director, Helen McCullough reinforced the importance of knowing our students and our communities and being courageous in our leadership to ensure that every student is reaching their potential in our schools.

P & C Committee

We have recently had some changes to our P & C Executive committee.  I would like to formally welcome Mr Shane Horrocks as our newly appointed Treasurer and Ms Tamara Heinemann as our newly appointed secretary.

Having a functioning CSHS P&C means that we are able to run our uniform shop, support student learning with provisions of resources, support school excursions and camp and is also the body that runs our tuckshop.

The P&C as a whole shapes the strategic direction of our school and is a vital part of consultations processes for school policies and funding decisions.  I encourage you to consider joining our P&C as a member so you can share your thoughts with us.

Kind Regards,

Mrs Elizabeth Mayo
