Graduating class 2018

Friday 16 November saw the year 12s final day at Charleville State High School. A graduation ceremony was held to celebrate this milestone and significant event in these young students lives, and as usual, it was a wonderful and emotional event.
The event not only signifies the end of 12 years of schooling, but also signifies that the students have achieved educational outcomes that will give them opportunities in the future.
Of the 33 students that graduated on Friday, every one of them is tracking to receive a QCE (Queensland Certificate of Education).
Seventeen of the year 12s sat the QCS test and so will shortly be receiving an OP score, which will enable them to accept offers for positions at various tertiary institutions around the country.
Nineteen students achieved a Certificate 2 or 3 qualifications through a completed school based traineeship, making them immediately employable in a number of fields. Of these, four have already commenced full time apprenticeships for next year, and I thank the businesses who have taken these graduates on for the start of their new careers.
These qualifications will assist each of our graduating students in achieving a positive, successful and secure future in the years to come. There are no guarantees in life, but successfully completing Year 12, statistically gives each of these students a massive advantage and improved chance of a prosperous and successful life.
On behalf of the whole Charleville State High School community, I wish this special group of students all the best for the future. I hope that your lives are everything you hope and wish them to be. Remember that “The Sky is the Limit” for every single one of you - take care and have a safe and amazing future!
